TAFT was originally established in 1991 to present a biennial
Arts Festival. TAFT’s primary focus is to provide for the community
of Taranaki access to high quality affordable events and festivals. We
endeavour
to present world class events through a world class organisation in world
class venues. In early 2000 TAFT took over the running of the Taranaki
Rhododendron and Garden Festival and presented WOMAD in 2003. After three
biennial presentations of WOMAD in 2008 it presented WOMAD annually for
the first time. In 2007 TAFT presented YouthFest.
