He
Reo Aroha
New Zealand/aotearoa
From an early age Kaia had been trained to sing and groomed for
greatness. Pascoe also sang, with his father, all the while working
on the fishing boats.
One night their voices meet and created a love that remains with
them for a lifetime. Kaia leaves, for Europe, for privilege and prestige.
Pascoe has another path, following in his father’s footsteps,
a boat of his own, a life of hard work.
However, their lives do not appear to be all they seem, all that
they want. What gets them through is music, what will get them together
is love.
Written by emerging writers Jamie McCaskill and Miria George, He
Reo Aroha has toured internationally and received standing ovations.
Directed by Hone Kouka and featuring original music written and performed
by Kali Kopae and Jamie McCaskill.
